Abrahamic religions refer to the three major monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These religions have a common origin and trace their lineage to the Prophet Abraham. Although "Abrahamic religion" is the most commonly used term to refer to these three faiths, there are a few other synonyms that are used to describe them. One such synonym is "Semitic religion," which derives from the common Semitic language and cultural background of these religions. Another synonym is "monotheistic religion," as they all worship a single, all-powerful God. "Western religion" is also used to describe them as they originated in the Middle East and spread to the West.
