Acoustic Neuroma is a rare condition that affects the balance and hearing nerves in the inner ear. This condition can also be referred to as Vestibular Schwannoma, Neurolemmoma, or Acoustic Schwannoma. These terms all describe the same type of benign non-cancerous tumor that grows on the nerve responsible for hearing and balance in the inner ear. Although the term Acoustic Neuroma is often used, it's important to note that all of these terms can be used interchangeably and should not be confused with other types of tumors that may affect the brain, ears, or nerves. Anyone experiencing symptoms of hearing loss, tinnitus, or balance problems should seek medical attention to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
