Active Server Pages (ASP) is a server-side scripting language for web development. It has been widely used to develop dynamic web pages, web applications, and web services. However, over the years, other scripting languages have emerged that offer similar or improved functionality to ASP. These languages include PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, and Node.js. Each of these languages has its own unique set of features that make it suitable for specific types of web development projects. Hence, website developers are allowed to use their preferred language or switch from one to the other when needed. Nonetheless, all these alternative languages are synonyms for Active Server Pages in modern web development.
