Acute nonlymphocytic leukemia (ANLL) is a type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow cells. It is also known as acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or acute myelocytic leukemia. AML is a rapidly progressing disease in which the bone marrow produces abnormal white blood cells that do not function properly, take over the bone marrow's healthy blood cells, and eventually spread to other parts of the body. Other synonyms for ANLL or AML include acute myelogenous leukemia, acute myeloblastic leukemia, and acute granulocytic leukemia. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for treating ANLL or AML, which can cause a range of symptoms, including fatigue, fever, bleeding, and infections.
