The Aegean Sea, also known as the Aegean Sea Basin, is an elongated body of water that spans between Turkey and Greece. It is surrounded by a number of islands, including the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, and the Sporades. The Aegean Sea is often referred to as the Archipelago Sea and the Aegean Basin. Additionally, the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea, which are located to the northeast of the Aegean Sea, are sometimes considered to be extensions of the Aegean Sea. The Aegean Sea is a popular tourism destination and attracts many visitors each year.
