Aeroballistics is a term used to describe the study of the flight of projectiles through the Earth's atmosphere. There are a number of synonyms for this term that are commonly used in scientific literature. These include aerodynamics, aeromechanics, aeronautics, aerophysics, and projectile dynamics. Each of these terms is used to describe a slightly different aspect of the study of projectile flight and the effects of the atmosphere on that flight. While they all have similar meanings, they can be used interchangeably to describe the complex interactions between a projectile and the air it travels through.
