Alboka is a traditional Basque musical instrument similar to a double clarinet. It is also known as an albogue in Spanish and algaita in Arabic. While it is unique to Basque culture, there are similar instruments found in other regions as well. In Turkey, it is known as a zurna, and in Serbia, it is called a gajde. The bagpipe-like instrument resembles a horn and is typically made of wood, with a leather or horn bell. It is often played in traditional Basque folk music and is commonly used in Basque street bands. Regardless of the name or origin, all of these instruments evoke a similar natural, rustic sound.
