Ambrosia Trifida is commonly known as giant ragweed, which is noxious weed that causes allergies in people. Some of the synonyms for Ambrosia Trifida include great ragweed, horseweed, buffalo-weed, and bitterweed. Although the plant has a wide distribution range spanning from Mexico to Canada, it is considered an invasive species. The weed can grow up to 16 feet tall and produce enormous amounts of pollen that can trigger severe seasonal allergies. Agronomists recommend eradicating Giant Ragweed by using herbicide or manually uprooting the plants. Farmers use giant ragweed as a cheap source of livestock feed, but they need to harvest it before it sets seeds to avoid the spread of the weed.
