The Angolan giraffe, also known as the Namibian giraffe or South African giraffe, is a subspecies of giraffe that is found predominantly in southwestern Africa. They are distinguished by their unique coat pattern of irregularly shaped patches that are distinct from their reticulated giraffe cousins. Other synonyms for this subspecies include the Cape giraffe, Spotted giraffe, Kalahari giraffe, and Southern giraffe. Although they are generally taller and slimmer than other giraffe subspecies, they are still endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Conservation efforts are currently in place to protect these gentle giants and ensure that future generations can continue to marvel at their beauty.
