Antisocial personalities refer to individuals who display a disregard for the rights, safety, and well-being of others. Although it is widely associated with psychopathy or sociopathy, other related terms can be used to describe this condition. These include: conduct disorder, which refers to a persistent pattern of behavior that violates the rights of others and societal norms; narcissistic personality disorder, which involves an excessive sense of self-importance, lack of empathy, and a tendency to exploit others for personal gain; borderline personality disorder, characterized by instability in moods, behavior, and self-image; and schizoid personality disorder, which involves detachment from social relationships and a preference for solitary activities.
