Apiphobia, also known as melissophobia, is a common fear of bees. The fear of bees may be attributed to previous painful encounters or a fear of being stung. Other words that are synonymous with apiphobia include acarophobia, which is the fear of insects and mites; entomophobia, which is the fear of all insects; and arachnophobia, which is the fear of spiders.
