April Fools' Day is a yearly occasion on which hoaxers can execute their most amusing pranks on unsuspecting victims, all in the name of fun. Some people refer to this day as All Fools' Day, but other synonyms for this whimsical holiday have emerged over time. For example, in Scotland, they called it Gowkie Day, and in France, they called it Poisson d'Avril. Additionally, in Italy, it is known as Pesce d'Aprile, which translates to "April Fish." In many countries, including the United States, it is customary to play pranks and spread good cheer on April Fools' Day, whatever name it may go by.
