"Asbat al-Ansar" is an Arabic term that translates to "League of Supporters" in English. However, there are several alternative synonyms used to describe this organization. Some of the common ones include "League of Partisans," "Group of Supporters," "Association of Advocates," "Alliance of Devotees," "Federation of Followers," and "Society of Followers." These synonyms accurately reflect the essence of the organization, which is an extremist Sunni Salafi jihadist group that operates primarily in Lebanon. Asbat al-Ansar was founded in the late 1980s and has been involved in several terrorist activities, including bombings and kidnappings, targeting Western and Israeli interests in the region.
