Aythya Marila, commonly known as the Greater Scaup, is a diving duck found in the northern hemisphere. There are various synonyms for this species of duck, including the blue-billed duck, broadbill, broad-billed scaup, blackhead, and bigheaded duck. However, the most common synonym for Aythya Marila is the "greater scaup" due to its size and diving characteristics. Regardless of the name used, these ducks are well-known for their striking black and white plumage and do not migrate too far south during the winter months. They are often found congregating in large flocks on open water, feeding on aquatic plants and invertebrates.
