Bertholletia Excelsa is a large, tropical tree known for producing one of the most nutritional nuts on the planet, the Brazil Nut. This tree is also commonly referred to as the South American Nut Tree or the Amazon Nut. Bertholletia Excelsa can grow up to 50 meters tall and 2 meters wide. It has a straight trunk with a round, spreading crown of large, deep green leaves. The Brazil Nut is commonly eaten on its own or added to desserts and trail mixes due to its high protein content. However, other names used to refer to this tree include cream nut, castanha-do-pará, and sapucaia.
