Budorcas Taxicolor is a scientific name for a species of wild goat, also known as the Takin. Takin is native to the Himalayas and can also be found in parts of China and Bhutan. Though it is also known as the Gnu goat, a majority still knows it by the name, Takin.
The word Takin has several synonyms, and some include the Golden Takin, Mishmi Takin, and Tibetan Takin. Some also refer to it as Cattle Chamois or Buffalo Goat. However, regardless of the name, the Takin is a majestic creature with a thick and woolly mane, and distinctively curved horns. The Takin is considered a vulnerable species due to habitat loss and hunting.
