BYOTH (Bring Your Own Technology Hardware) is a term that refers to the practice of employees bringing their own electronic devices, such as laptops, smartphones or tablets, to work. It has increasingly become the norm in modern workplaces. However, there are other terms that are used interchangeably with BYOTH. These include 'Bring Your Own Device' (BYOD), 'Choose Your Own Device' (CYOD), and 'Bring Your Own Device to Work' (BYODTW). While these terms may be used interchangeably, they all have a slightly unique meaning, but the ultimate goal is to have employees use their personal devices for work purposes while ensuring the security of business data.
