When we think of the phrase "ceases living," the first word that comes to mind is usually "dies." However, there are many antonyms, or opposite words, that we could use to describe the end of someone's life. Life could expire, conclude, halt, terminate, come to an end, or cease to exist. Other antonyms include Eternize, prevail, survive and persist. These words might seem less common, but can serve as a reminder that death is not just an end, but can also be seen as a transition to a new state of being. Whatever the language we choose, the end of life is an inevitable part of the human experience.
