Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation is a medical condition that refers to an abnormal tangle of blood vessels in the brain. This condition is also known as brain AVM or cerebral AVM. The term cerebral AVM is often used interchangeably with the term AVM, which stands for arteriovenous malformation. Other synonyms for cerebral AVM include cerebral vascular malformation, cerebral vascular AVM and cerebral angioma. Cerebral AVM can cause a wide range of symptoms, including headaches, seizures, difficulty speaking, and paralysis. While the exact cause of cerebral AVM is unknown, it is typically treated with surgery or radiation therapy.
