The chancel table, also known as the altar table, is a key element in many religious ceremonies. However, there are several other terms used to refer to this piece of furniture, including sacristy table, communion table, and Eucharist table. In some Christian denominations, it may also be called the Lord's table or the Holy table. The word "mensa" is also sometimes used to describe the table's flat surface. Regardless of the term used, the chancel table remains a symbol of the sanctity of the religious space and is often adorned with beautiful cloths, candles, and other sacred items.
