The Congreso of Mexico, also known as the Mexican Congress, is the legislative branch of the Mexican government. There are several synonyms that can be used to refer to this institution, including the Mexican Parliament, the Mexican Legislature, and the National Congress of Mexico. Additionally, it may be referred to simply as the Congress, or by its Spanish name, Congreso de la Unión. The Congreso of Mexico is composed of two bodies, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, and is responsible for creating and amending laws, approving the national budget, and overseeing the work of the executive branch.
