The Continuity Irish Republican Army (CIRA) is a splinter group formed from the Provisional Irish Republican Army (PIRA) in the late 1990s. They are dedicated to continuing the armed struggle for a united Ireland and reject the peace process. There are a number of synonyms used to describe the group, including the Continuity Army Council, the Continuity Army, CAC, or simply Continuity. The organization has been responsible for a number of bombing campaigns and attacks on security forces in Ireland. The group is considered a terrorist organization by the UK, US, Ireland, and other international bodies.
