Counter spy is a term commonly used in intelligence and espionage circles to describe a person engaged in the practice of espionage against an enemy spy. However, there are several different terms that can be used interchangeably with counter spy. These include counterintelligence agent, secret agent, intelligence officer, intelligence analyst, covert operator, and spymaster. Each of these terms describes a person engaged in activities designed to prevent and detect espionage, collect information to support national security interests, and neutralize the activities of foreign intelligence agents. While these terms may have slightly different connotations and operational roles, they all share the same objective of protecting national security interests and safeguarding sensitive information.
