Danzig Gulden is a historical currency that was used in the port city of Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland) during the 14th and 15th centuries. It was often referred to as the Danziger Gulden, Danziger Guldenschein, or Danzigische Münze. It was valued at roughly the same as the Florin, Ducat, or Mark and was made of silver and gold. The term "Gulden" is also used to describe similar currencies used in other parts of Europe such as the Austrian Gulden, German Gulden, and Dutch Gulden. These currencies were eventually succeeded by other forms of currency such as the Euro in 2002.
