Demetrius I, also known as Demetrius Poliorcetes, was a Greek king who ruled Macedonia from 294 BC to 288 BC. He was also referred to as the Besieger due to his military campaigns focused on besieging cities. Additionally, he was called the King of Macedon because of his position as ruler of the region. He was also known as the Son of Antigonus, as he was the son of fellow Greek ruler Antigonus Monophthalmus. Furthermore, some sources also refer to him as the Conqueror, as he successfully conquered several territories during his reign. Finally, he was called the founder of the Antigonid dynasty, as he established his family's reign over Macedonia.
