Desmoplastic Fibroma is a rare bone tumor that is characterized by the growth of fibrous tissue in the bone. It affects mostly children and young adults. There are some synonyms for this condition, including aggressive fibromatosis, desmoid tumor, and extra-abdominal fibromatosis. Desmoid tumor is a noncancerous tumor that grows in the connective tissue, while extra-abdominal fibromatosis is a rare tumor that develops outside the abdomen. All of these conditions are characterized by the growth of fibrous tissue in the bone or connective tissue. The symptoms of these conditions are pain, swelling, and limited mobility. Treatment includes surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
