Dilly bag is a commonly used term for an Australian Aboriginal bag traditionally woven from plant fibers used for gathering and carrying food. However, there are a variety of other names for these bags that have been used across different regions and tribes of Australia. One such synonym is "ngarrimili", used by the Yolngu people of Arnhem Land. The Gundungurra people of New South Wales call it a "bulu". "Makurti" and "kapartu" are the words used in the Western Desert region of Australia, while "balagara" is the term used by the Ngarluma people of the Pilbara. Despite the different names, these bags remain an important cultural item for Aboriginal communities.
