Dolphin drive hunting, also known as dolphin drive fishing, is a controversial method of hunting where dolphins are driven towards a shore or into a cove and then killed for their meat and other products. Synonyms for dolphin drive hunting include dolphin slaughter, dolphin massacre, dolphin culling, and dolphin hunting. These terms all refer to the same practice of intentionally killing wild dolphins. The International Whaling Commission has called for a ban on dolphin drive hunting, citing cruelty and unsustainable depletion of dolphin populations. Several countries, including Australia, India, and New Zealand, have also banned or restricted dolphin drive hunting in their waters.
