Enhydra Lutris, also known as the sea otter, is a semi-aquatic mammal found in the northern and eastern Pacific Ocean. Other synonyms for Enhydra Lutris include the marine otter, sea beaver, and the Pacific otter. They are known for their thick fur that helps to keep them warm in cold water, their webbed feet for swimming, and their ability to use tools to crack open mollusks and other shellfish. Enhydra Lutris also plays an important role in the ecosystem as keystone species, helping to maintain the health of kelp forests and other marine ecosystems. Despite being protected from hunting and poaching, they still face threats such as pollution, ocean acidification, and climate change.
