Equatorial Africa, also known as Central Africa, is a term used to describe the region of the African continent that lies near the equator. This region is characterized by a tropical humid climate, dense rainforests, and a unique biodiversity. Some alternative terms that may be used to refer to this region include the Congo Basin, the Congo Rainforest, or simply Central Africa. The countries that make up Equatorial Africa include Congo, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, and Equatorial Guinea.
