Erolia minutilla, commonly known as the Least Sandpiper, is a small migratory bird species found in North America. There are several synonyms for this bird, mainly due to different regions having their own names for it. In Canada, it is called "Semipalmated Sandpiper," while in the United Kingdom, it is known as the "Little Stint." The Latin name "Calidris minutilla" is also used to refer to this bird. Regardless of the name, the Least Sandpiper is known for its small size, brownish-gray coloration, and distinctive yellow legs. It can often be spotted running along coastlines and in marshy areas, feeding on insects, small crustaceans, and other small organisms.
