During World War II, Nazi Germany established several extermination camps, where millions of Jews, Roma, homosexuals, disabled people and others were murdered in gas chambers and through other means. Though the term "extermination camp" is widely used to describe these horrific places of mass murder, there are a variety of synonyms that can be used as well. Some of these synonyms include death camp, killing center, mass murder camp, and genocide camp. However, it's worth noting that no matter what word is used, the atrocities committed at these places cannot be downplayed or forgotten. We must always remember and honor those who lost their lives in these tragic events.
