Fere phenomenon refers to the experience of feeling a simultaneous sensation in one part of your body when you have a sensation induced on another part of your body. The phenomenon, also known as synesthesia, can be quite rare and has been attributed to various factors such as neurocognitive differences, psychological states and even certain drugs. Usually, synesthesia occurs in people who have experiences that others might classify as hallucinations. Synesthesia has also been described as crossmodal correspondences, blending of perceptual qualities and perceptual experiences. Other synonyms for fere phenomenon include synesthesia, crossmodal association, and sensory substitution, among others.
