A finder telescope, also known as a finderscope, is a small telescope used to help locate objects in the main telescope's field of view. However, there are many different terms that can be used interchangeably with the word "finder telescope." Some common synonyms include a spotting scope, a red dot finder, and a reflex sight. Each of these terms refers to a specific type of telescope or sighting device that can be used to help locate celestial objects in the night sky. Regardless of what term is used, however, all of these devices serve the same essential function of helping amateur astronomers find and track objects in the sky.
