Hyperbole is a literary device used to exaggerate and emphasize a point. However, when it becomes too much, it becomes further hyperbole. There are several synonymous terms that one can use instead of further hyperbole. Some of these include overstatement, exaggeration, embellishment, magnification, and elaboration. These terms are excellent as replacements for further hyperbole. Overstatement, as the name suggests, refers to making a bigger deal out of something than it really is. Exaggeration and magnification are similar terms that refer to amplifying certain aspects of a story to make a point more impactful. Elaboration and embellishment refer to adding details to make a story or argument more interesting, but sometimes crosses the line into further hyperbole.
