This style is also commonly referred to as a Dutch gable house, front gable house, or a cross gable house. Dutch gable houses have a roof that involves combining a gable roof with a hip roof while, a front gable house features a gable roof on the front façade of the house. A cross gable house, as the name implies, features two or more gable roofs that intersect each other at different angles.
