The Genus Boselaphus, commonly known as the antelopes of India, includes two species- the Nilgai and the four-horned antelope. The Nilgai is also known as the blue bull because of its blue-grey coat, while the four-horned antelope has, as its name suggests, four horns instead of the usual two. Other synonyms that are commonly used for the Genus Boselaphus include Indian antelope, Indian nilgai and boselaph. They are found across various regions of India, such as Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh and are known for their impressive size and strength. These antelopes can weigh up to 300 kg and can run at a speed of up to 60 km/hr.
