Glaucomys Sabrinus, commonly known as the Northern Flying Squirrel, is a small nocturnal rodent found in northern regions of North America. In addition to its scientific name, the Northern Flying Squirrel has a number of alternative monikers, including the American Flying Squirrel, the Eastern Flying Squirrel, and the Pine Squirrel. This adaptability reflects the varied habitats in which it is known to inhabit, including dense coniferous forests and mixed woodland. The Northern Flying Squirrel is renowned for its ability to glide through the air thanks to a flap of skin which connects its front and back legs, allowing it to cover distances of up to 100 meters.
