Glutathione S Transferase P (GSTP) is an enzyme that plays a vital role in the metabolism and detoxification of xenobiotics and endogenous substances. However, if there is an imbalance or overproduction of GSTP, it can lead to oxidative stress, inflammation, and even cancer. To counteract such effects, there are several antonyms for GSTP, including inhibitors, suppressors, and deactivators. Some examples of GSTP inhibitors are curcumin, resveratrol, and α-lipoic acid, while suppressors include vitamin E, quercetin, and sulforaphane. On the other hand, deactivators of GSTP include metformin, pioglitazone, and raloxifene.
