Gyromitra Gigas is a species of fungus that grows in North America and Europe. It is commonly known as the "Elephant's Ear," or the "Giant False Morel," due to its distinctive appearance. The fungus has a wrinkled, brain-like cap that can grow up to 30 cm in diameter, and a thick stem that can be up to 15 cm tall. Other synonyms for Gyromitra Gigas include Morchella gigas, Gyromitra esculenta var. gigas, and Helvella gigas. Despite its unique appearance, Gyromitra Gigas is not recommended for consumption, as it contains a toxin that can cause illness or even death if ingested.
