Hobblebush is a common name for a shrub that mainly grows in the northern hemisphere. This plant is mainly known for its large, flat-topped clusters of white flowers, which are followed by red berries. However, the term Hobblebush is not used universally, and therefore, the shrub can be referred to by various other names. Some of the synonyms for Hobblebush include Moosewood, Viburnum, Witch Hobble, and American wayfaring tree. Moosewood is used because this plant is a primary food source for moose. Viburnum is a name commonly used because it belongs to the Viburnum family. Witch Hobble is because the branches were traditionally used in witchcraft. Lastly, the American wayfaring tree is due to its preference of growing near roads and highways.
