Jamaica apple, also known as Syzygium malaccense, is a fruit native to Southeast Asia and is commonly found in the Caribbean, including Jamaica. While it's commonly referred to as Jamaica apple, it has many other names around the world. In Hawaii, it's called 'ohi'a 'ai, while in Singapore, it's known as jambu or jambu air. In Malaysia and Indonesia, it goes by the name jambu bol and makopa, respectively. The fruit is also called Malay apple, mountain apple or rose apple. Regardless of the name, the fruit is known for its unique taste and scent, making it a staple in cuisines across the world.
