Lampris Regius is a species of deep-sea fish known for its distinctive appearance and delicious taste. Also called King-of-the-Sea or King Fish, it is found in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, from the coasts of Europe to South America. In some regions, Lampris Regius is also known as Emperor fish, Giant Ocean Sunfish, and Ocean Sunfish, although its appearance does not resemble the typical flat-bodied sunfish. The fish is highly sought after by chefs and seafood lovers, and its meat is commonly used in sushi, sashimi, and seafood stews. Despite its popularity, Lampris Regius is not considered overfished and is classified as a least concern species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
