Laportea Canadensis is a member of the Nettle family and is commonly known as Wood Nettle. It is an herbaceous perennial plant that grows in moist woodlands, thickets, and along streams in many regions of North America. The leaves of the plant resemble those of stinging nettle but are not prickly to the touch. In addition to its medicinal properties, Laportea Canadensis is also used as a wild edible plant, as its young leaves and shoots can be cooked like spinach.
