Layia Platyglossa is a beautiful wildflower native to California and Baja California. It is commonly referred to as Tidy Tips because of its unique appearance. The petals are divided into two parts with a distinctive white tip and yellow base, giving it a neat and tidy look. Other popular names for this wildflower include Golden Ray, Flat-topped Buckwheat, and Coastal Tidy Tips. The synonym for Layia Platyglossa is also sometimes referred to as the Prairie Daisy or Yellowtop. These wildflowers are commonly found in areas with sand, gravel, or clay soil, and can grow up to two feet tall.
