The least common multiple (LCM) is a mathematical concept used to find the smallest multiple that two or more numbers share. While the term LCM is commonly used, there are several synonyms for this calculation. In some textbooks, LCM is referred to as the smallest common multiple, or SCM. Other sources may call it the lowest common multiple, or LOM. Depending on the field of study, LCM may also be referred to as the smallest common denominator or SCD. Regardless of the terminology used, the concept remains the same - finding the smallest integer that is divisible by all of the given numbers.
