The term "lefthander" is often used to describe someone who predominantly uses their left hand for tasks such as writing, throwing and batting. However, there are various synonyms to describe someone with this trait. One of the more popular ones is "southpaw" which originated from the sport of boxing where fighters would face each other in a ring and would typically have their right foot towards the south of the ring. Another synonym is "lefty" which is often heard in casual conversations. Other terms include "left-winger" and "port-sider", the latter being used in baseball to describe a left-handed pitcher. Regardless of the term used, being a left-hander is simply a trait that should be embraced and celebrated.
