Memristor is a term used to describe a passive electrical component which can effectively alter the electric circuit's resistance in response to the magnetic fields. Although it is a rather specific term, there are several synonyms that one can use instead of memristor. One such term is resistive-switching memory units, which is a fundamental part of non-volatile computer memory. Another synonym for memristor is the RRAM (Resistive RAM). A third substitute for memristor could be a synaptic device that mimics the human neurones and their connection through electro-chemical impulses. Lastly, the fourth synonym could be called 'Mott Insulators,' which specifically refer to electric insulators that turn into conductors, similar to memristor.
