Mimetite is a rare mineral that is generally orange-yellow or yellow-brown in color. Although not a commonly known or used term, mimetite has several synonyms including arsenopyromorphite, arsendescloizite, and arseniopleite. These minerals share a similar crystal structure to mimetite and are also composed of arsenic compounds. Additionally, there are other minerals that may be confused with or mistaken for mimetite which include pyromorphite, vanadinite, and wulfenite. While they differ in composition or color, all of these minerals bear some resemblance to mimetite and can be found in similar geological formations.
