Mitchella Repens is a herbaceous plant known commonly as Partridgeberry or Squaw Vine. It can be found in the eastern regions of North America and is an important herb in traditional medicine. The two-eyed berry refer to the appearance of its fruit which have two depressions that resemble eyes. The plant's name Squaw Vine comes from its use in Native American medicine where it was used to aid in childbirth.
